Encouragement of girls Education

When I return to South Sudan, as one of the educated woman of South Sudan, I will involve in program that is focusing on women or girls education and to be a volunteer in status that encourage girls education by motivating them not only providing them with material things but by words of hope, I believe if someone is motivated in doing something they will success, so by motivating them they will know the important of education in life of a woman; yes is actually truth that women of South Sudan do not have access for education due to many reasons such as issues of custom, economic issue and lack of motivation.
I think as a teacher my role is to motivate them either in groups or individually by pay visit in gathering places and schools, and give them words of hope and strength and experience that I g although through these challenges still they have access to education because they have great role to play in developing a country.

My goals when I return to South Sudan

My plans when I return to South Sudan, Is to improve the ways of teaching in schools and advocate for girl child education, to engage in training of teachers and designing curriculum and so many others, these are the goals I want to achieve when I return back Home although there are many but am focusing on teaching methods only which is more important which I think it will promote the standard of education in South Sudan and especially in my community.

So with the help of courses that I learned from here, I think it may be helpful to work with it, like curriculum, instruction context of curriculum and leadership challenges. Teaching in South Sudan schools is so stressful due to so many reasons but I think the major one is overcrowd of classrooms, so to be an effective teacher and with knowledge that I got from here using different teaching methods, so teaching methods goes together with class size so my role is to design a unit course that can meet interest of both teacher and students that will allow everyone involve in the process of learning in this way students may have great opportunity to learn more and to know how to do, not just to learn only.

Not a teacher by Profession

Is not a teacher by profession definitely this means someone was not train to be a teacher or who has not study in a field of Education, just she/he is teaching like doing his/her regularly duties. Teaching in emergencies situation it needs well-trained teachers who can teach well according to the situation of school and students.

Teachers who are not by profession have positive and negative effect toward students learning because such students needs a good foundation of education and they are there in school to acquire knowledge, so for them to get these knowledge they need teachers who are well train, so that to provide or pass information to them through different ways of teaching or using teaching methods, so in the situation without trained teachers this will affect the nature of students learning and they will not get a right education because they were been taught just for seek of learning. And also this might help in situation where the school or ministry of education is not having enough teachers or lacking teachers, so in this situation they employ anybody in position of a teacher from any other fields just to cover the place.

The trip to Chicago

The trip to Chicago was very interesting and enjoyable places having many good memories things and big buildings, historical places.
I am very excite with Jane Addams Hull House settlement, this building have memories of so many things which introduced extraordinary people who inhabited Hull-House and learn how the experience of these reformers continue to inform and inspire the ongoing efforts for social justice.
So, I am very inspire in part of machine because during that time, where the two women were working with this machine to get money to survive with this kind of job, so I learned how simple work can some one earn living with it. It is very important thing or idea of how women can be creative in such the way manage with life, when I return to South Sudan; I will let the woman know how we women are creative in many actives. By encouraging them with what I saw in Jane Addams’ Hull House she is woman like us, she has done many things which is very important not that we can not able to do what she has done. We can do everything that keep people to remember us with and to benefit from what we can do to attract other people to know that any simple thing that has a benefits. In conclusion we woman are naturally born with extraordinary thinking, they think wisely before acting.

Life History as a Methodology for CIE.

In this conference of the comparative and international education society (CIES). It was interest in part of presentation of final paper of the students, which is research. I attended the (session 3) about the philosophy and practice of internationalization.
The Presenter was presenting about life history as a methodology for (CIE) and she took an example from Tanzania by interviewing some of the girls in secondary school in Tanzania and through this interview she is asking them to tell about their life which concern with their education so they started telling about problems that affecting their studies like lack of resources, long distance from school and lack of classrooms and also right for girl child education so the research problems has similarities with the one of South Sudan. The Researcher post some of the questions:
·      What are the possibilities and limitations of schooling to engender female empowerment?

·      How do female secondary school graduates explain?

APPROACH IN CURRICULUM DEVLOPMENT

In developing the history curriculum or deciding whether a particular curriculum is appropriate for a specific standard of the children to be taught history effectively so it must have a clear understanding of what history is and what contribution it can make to the education of pupils so history is all about the past events.

In designing history curriculum that is talking about social studies because if we talk of social it will come to the mind of pupils about what people normally do in the society or community and to understand the way people use to live and diversity of societies and relationships between different groups and also their own identity of who they are? Instead of teaching everything in history the bad part should be left out like things connected with conflict and tribalism.
