In developing the history curriculum or deciding whether a
particular curriculum is appropriate for a specific standard of the children to
be taught history effectively so it must have a clear understanding of what
history is and what contribution it can make to the education of pupils so
history is all about the past events.
In designing history curriculum that is talking about social
studies because if we talk of social it will come to the mind of pupils about
what people normally do in the society or community and to understand the way
people use to live and diversity of societies and relationships between
different groups and also their own identity of who they are? Instead of
teaching everything in history the bad part should be left out like things
connected with conflict and tribalism.
Very interesting, how would you determine which parts are the bad parts? Do you think there would be people who disagreed on which parts are bad? If I'm reading you correctly, you would rather focus on the social aspects or people's lives especially those things that identify similarities or cross cultural understanding? These in in no way easy questions. People spend their entire lives trying to answer these questions.
