The trip to Chicago

The trip to Chicago was very interesting and enjoyable places having many good memories things and big buildings, historical places.
I am very excite with Jane Addams Hull House settlement, this building have memories of so many things which introduced extraordinary people who inhabited Hull-House and learn how the experience of these reformers continue to inform and inspire the ongoing efforts for social justice.
So, I am very inspire in part of machine because during that time, where the two women were working with this machine to get money to survive with this kind of job, so I learned how simple work can some one earn living with it. It is very important thing or idea of how women can be creative in such the way manage with life, when I return to South Sudan; I will let the woman know how we women are creative in many actives. By encouraging them with what I saw in Jane Addams’ Hull House she is woman like us, she has done many things which is very important not that we can not able to do what she has done. We can do everything that keep people to remember us with and to benefit from what we can do to attract other people to know that any simple thing that has a benefits. In conclusion we woman are naturally born with extraordinary thinking, they think wisely before acting.

Life History as a Methodology for CIE.

In this conference of the comparative and international education society (CIES). It was interest in part of presentation of final paper of the students, which is research. I attended the (session 3) about the philosophy and practice of internationalization.
The Presenter was presenting about life history as a methodology for (CIE) and she took an example from Tanzania by interviewing some of the girls in secondary school in Tanzania and through this interview she is asking them to tell about their life which concern with their education so they started telling about problems that affecting their studies like lack of resources, long distance from school and lack of classrooms and also right for girl child education so the research problems has similarities with the one of South Sudan. The Researcher post some of the questions:
·      What are the possibilities and limitations of schooling to engender female empowerment?

·      How do female secondary school graduates explain?

APPROACH IN CURRICULUM DEVLOPMENT

In developing the history curriculum or deciding whether a particular curriculum is appropriate for a specific standard of the children to be taught history effectively so it must have a clear understanding of what history is and what contribution it can make to the education of pupils so history is all about the past events.

In designing history curriculum that is talking about social studies because if we talk of social it will come to the mind of pupils about what people normally do in the society or community and to understand the way people use to live and diversity of societies and relationships between different groups and also their own identity of who they are? Instead of teaching everything in history the bad part should be left out like things connected with conflict and tribalism.

My Experience at Indiana

My first day it was a big surprise getting myself in Indiana because i never had a dream of coming
to America because am just hearing about America especially the way it sound and people were talking about the place, the way describing it's not easy to go there .
I thought America was different from other countries in the world, for sure it was different from others especially my country South Sudan.

Experience that I got here is the difference of time and America is more developed country than other countries. In Indiana  what l experience things are not easy to be learn because every thing is computerizing , I found myself having so many password or pass phrase anything has rule to be
followed, like crossing the road , I never knew that if you are crossing road you need to press the an arrow that can direct you to cross the road and also I experience that ID card of University can do anything  like  opening the door and getting into bus with it , the other one of my country ID card of University can only be use for entering University and using library.

My experience in University of Indiana is similar to the one of Madam Julia , the ways of classes
are different and so many assignment reading and everyone giving his/her task to be done.
I love Indiana although is hard to learned other things.
